Final victim of sunken yacht off Sicily recovered

ROME, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) — The body of the final victim from the sinking of the Bayesian superyacht was recovered on Friday, four days after the vessel sank during a flash storm off the coast of Sicily, Italy.
Authorities have identified the final victim as Hannah Lynch, the 18-year-old daughter of billionaire tech tycoon Mike Lynch.
Earlier this week, the bodies of four other victims-Mike Lynch, Morgan Stanley International Chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy Bloomer, and lawyer Chris Morvillo, along with his wife, Neda Morvillo-were retrieved from the sunken yacht. The body of chef Recaldo Thomas was recovered immediately after the incident on Monday.
Angela Bacares, Mike Lynch’s wife and Hannah Lynch’s mother, was among the 15 survivors of the tragedy, which included nine crew members and six of Lynch’s guests.
Italian authorities in Sicily have launched a comprehensive investigation into the tragedy, conducting interviews with eyewitnesses, the ship’s captain, and the yacht’s manufacturer. ■
